Policy on Monetary Donations & Gifts in Kind
The Efner History Research Library welcomes monetary donations, and gifts in kind (equipment, supplies, etc.) in support of the collections and the library's programs, services and facilities. Unless donors specify otherwise, monetary funds will be used at the discretion of the archivist in support of the Library.

Gifts of materials or equipment for everyday functioning of the Library, such as computers, will be used by the Library as deemed appropriate, and with the understanding that some items may be disposed of at the Library's discretion if rendered inoperable or obsolete, or if replaced by more appropriate equipment.
We appreciate the generosity of our donors, and will make every effort to maintain equipment in good working order, and to ensure, if replaced, but still useful, it is turned over to another deserving community organization.

If requested, appropriate recognition for accepted donations will be provided. The Library will provide donors with a receipt but is not responsible for appraising the value of gifts in kind.

Policy Regarding Archival Donations/Deposits
The City History Center welcomes gifts of library and archival value, with the understanding that they are nonreturnable. Donated items should match our collections development policy. The Library will acknowledge receipt for gifts for tax purposes, but will not assess a monetary value to said gifts. Donors shall execute a Deed of Gift with each collection donated to the Library.

Deposit Agreements instead of Deed of Gifts will be exercised only in unusual circumstances, at the discretion of the archivist.
