Overview


The Law Department is responsible for managing the City of Schenectady's legal needs including:
•General legal advice for all City Departments
•Contract review and management
•Freedom of Information Law requests
•Parking Tickets
•Prosecuting Code violations
•Managing the sale of City owned property
•Overseeing the City's foreclosure process
•Reviewing and overseeing claims against the City
  


Plea by Mail Form - New York State (NYS) Transportation Law


If you received a ticket for Commercial Vehicle Safety issues (i.e. log book or driver violations, air brakes, steering, load securement, etc.) and wish to make an application for a review by the Law Department, you may submit an application to the Corporation Counsel’s Office. In order to do so you must download and fill out this plea by mail form (PDF) and mail it to the City of Schenectady Law Department, 105 Jay Street, Schenectady New York 12305. Please read the instructions carefully before completing the form, as they cannot be processed if they are filled out incorrectly.
