Important update regarding COVID-19 and the sale of City property
The City of Schenectady and our listing agents are among those impacted by the Coronavirus crisis. With the health and welfare of our staff, clients and partners as our top priority, we are implementing several measures to reduce the spread and ensure safety.
All open houses and physical viewings of properties are temporarily suspended. In-person showings are currently prohibited and must be done virtually. For more information please see the NYSAR website and FAQ’s.
To further comply with the Governor’s “New York State on Pause” directive, the formal review and sale of City owned property is suspended until further notice. Applications will still be accepted and reviewed for completeness; however, formal review and disposition for a particular offer will not be conducted at this time.
“We are taking City-owned buildings and getting them back in the hands of new owners who will renovate them and help us continue the revitalization of Schenectady neighborhoods,” Mayor Gary R. McCarthy said. Below is an example of a Malizia Development, LLC. rehab of a City-owned property.
