Moving Schenectady Forward

On January 11, 2016, Mayor Gary R. McCarthy announced the appointment of the Schenectady Smart City Advisory Commission (SSCAC) as part of a collaborative effort between private and public sector organizations to transform Schenectady into a "Smart City" on national and global terms. Building off of recent success and the revitalization of Schenectady's downtown, the SSCAC will aid in promoting growth and development in all areas of the City by evaluating, reviewing, and assessing opportunities, products, processes and emerging technologies and providing their recommendations to the Mayor to better guide Schenectady's Smart City initiatives. The goal of the Commission is to help build an environment of sustainability, efficiency, and improved quality of life by leveraging technology and innovation for the betterment of residents and businesses in Schenectady.
